A Chinese man left his wife in hospital after biting off and swallowing her nose in a horrific attack in Dezhou, Shandong province. A woman, only identified as Ms Yang, was taken to hospital for immediate treatment after her husband attacked her and bit off her nose.

According to the woman, the assault occurred after she didn’t answer her husband’s phone calls the previous evening. The next day a furious man stormed into her working place, where they started to fight until he bit off her nose and swallowed it in anger.

“He said: ‘Why didn’t you pick up the phone when I rang you?’ And the next thing I knew, he pushed my head towards the wall and ate my nose in one go.”
